To make chocolate cupcakes a couple of ingredients will be needed. Make sure to have a ½ cup of Dutch-processed cocoa powder, one 1/3 cup of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, ½ teaspoons of salt, ½ cups of unsalted butter, 1 cup of granulated white sugar, 2 large eggs, 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract, and 1 cup of boiling hot water. Acquiring these important and precise ingredients will help into the development of these oh so great tasting cupcakes. Sandra Herrera another sophomore at SEHS, says, “I’m glad that I finally have the ingredients to make chocolate cupcakes.
Now that the ingredients are acquired the mixing process is next. In a small bowl mix the cocoa powder with boiling hot water. In another bowl whisk together the baking powder, salt, and flour. An electric mixer can be used to mix the cream, butter, and sugar until it is fluffy. Remember to add the egg beatings until smooth and beat the vanilla extract. Add the flour mixture and beat only until included. Finally add the cooled cocoa mixture and stir until smooth. Josue Benavidez also a sophomore at SEHS, says, “I didn’t know you had to do a lot of things to make a chocolate cupcake but I’m glad this will help.
The mixture is now ready to bake. A container to put the mix will be needed to place in the oven. When the container is acquired it is ready to use. Fill each container cup and bake for about 16-20 minutes. When they are finished take them out of the oven and let them cool. Genesis Celis, another sophomore at SEHS, says, “I love cupcakes when they are freshly baked.” If wanted the cupcakes can be decorated to give them a more exciting and tasty look such as icing. Now the cupcakes are ready to eat so enjoy.
